About You, Our Customer
You've heard of the exciting field of Adaptive Optics, and found
our link from the Okotech web site. You have some great ideas, and are ready to purchase real
hardware/software to get started. You might be involved in medicine, fusion power, atomic tweezers,
microlithography, astronomy, laser beam control, or telecommunications, to name a few applications.
Without a doubt, you've come to the right place to start.
We cheerfully provide import/export services for the US distribution market of Flexible Optical BV (a.k.a.
Okotech) located in The Netherlands. Since we use the products, we are also quite familiar with them.
Since Okotech components have enjoyed a lot of attention in R&D, there are hundreds of publications
based on the highly affordable hardware/software options. It's a great way to get started.
You've Either Seen or Heard some Good things about of
our Fast Steering Mirrors, and found our link from a web search or a trusted
colleague. (In fact, that's been how we've acquired much of our business to date.) You're in the right
place. Our ultra-fast "LIght Force" and wide angle "Pac-Mirror" Fast Steering Mirrors are the best products
on the market for a number of reasons. They are lower in RMS noise jitter (20nRads), have greater speed at
larger deflection angles, and they are 5th and 6th generation products which are easier to use in real
systems. Our controller is small and efficient, and the cable is thin, flexible, and extendable to 100+ft.
OEM versions are even smaller. Our Pac-Mirror fits in any 4" mirror mount, a feature which experimentally
saves having to add another mirror in the beam train. It's hardly fair to the competition that our prices are
similar to theirs. We also do custom, including large diameter Sic and SiC over SiFoam.
You're a Growing Hi-Tech Business who got one more contract award than
expected this year. Good for you, but don't wait, you need support NOW. You've got a great team, but
they're booked solid. Maybe electro-optics isn't your business focus, and you could use help selecting
state-of-the-art hardware which happens also to be backed by solid software SDK's. You need reliable Sr.
engineering support to specify, design, acquire components, assemble, interface, program, debug, and
verify system specifications.
Baker Adaptive Optics can create a completely assembled, tested, and delivered system or subsystem. On
Time. On budget. We prefer purchase orders to open-ended contracts. We'll guard your IP. Let's work
You're the Head of a University Research program with a lot of
M.S. and PhD. students, post-docs, and minimal staff. You need equipment and systems tailored for
reliability and ease-of-use by both today's professionals and tomorrow's experts-in-training, namely students
in search of readily workable thesis hardware.
You can hire Baker Adaptive Optics to design the educational electro-optical testbeds or subsystems
tailored for your use. We take advantage of the low educational cost of the Matlab program and it's rich
and diverse set of numerical toolboxes. We create new Matlab command-line functions for video, sensors
and realtime control of optics and moving mechanisms using the C-mex dll functionality. The hardware I/O
interfacing then becomes trivial, "and the rest is left to the student" for his thesis. We prefer open interfaces
with a minimum of expensive proprietary content. We like the latest versions of Labview too!
You're a Major DoD contractor whose projects this time of the year outnumber
your Sr. Engineering Staff. Big or small, you too need reliable Sr. engineering support to specify, design,
acquire components, assemble, interface, program, debug, and verify system specifications.
That means typically you will need to acquire:
1 systems engineer
1 optical engineer
1 controls engineer
1 electronics engineer
1 realtime computer engineer
1 accounting tech.
OR you can just hire Baker Adaptive Optics for a completely assembled, tested, and delivered system or
subsystem. On Time. On budget. No Performance Compromises. We prefer purchase orders to
open-ended contracts. Do what you do best, and leave the rest to us. We'll guard your IP, too.
